CWF Group Internship Program! (3-4 months)

Are you looking for hands-on work experience in a positive and thriving work environment? Are you driven, hard-working and possess a competitive spirit? Would you like to have fun while adding vital real-world experience to your resume?

As a Human Resources Assistant Intern (volunteer), you will use your creativity, initiative, and tenacity to learn how to complete various projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Seminar preparation;
  • Develop communication skills through communication with some of our carriers (RBC, BMO, SunLife, Manulife Financial, Canada Life, Industrial Alliance, etc.), business partners, advisors, candidates or others as required;
  • Setup client charts;
  • Prepare presentations and marketing material;
  • Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, online promotion, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training materials
  • Research and preparation of required documents, etc.
  • Other tasks as required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Those studying Sales, Business, Marketing, and Economics preferred.

Mentorship/Training

  • Mentor under a Senior Associate Manager/Vice President or delegate
  • Periodic and constructive feedback will be provided to the intern as projects are completed to enhance the internship experience and help prepare these interns for the workplace.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a skill set of gathering questions and asking appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Develop the skills required to interact with senior management and staff (for example director, managers, senior associates, staff, and office staff) in a professional manner.
  • Develop time management skills and the ability to be responsible for more than one project at a time.
  • Develop organizational skills to complete the project in a timely manner.
  • Gain insight into customer service focus of the firm.
  • Learn to use the proprietary software used by the firm to analyze the investment needs of the client.
  • Gain an understanding of the investment databases used by the investment firm.
  • Gain a further understanding of the process used by the firm to examine the investment goals of the client.
  • Develop skills needed in communicating with customers regarding their investment accounts.
  • Learn more about insurance planning and other aspects of financial planning.
